Fish

Jesse and I decided it would be fun to get a few fish for our pond. We don't really like the pond that much so to try and like it more I have planted some flowers around it and now we have decided to get some fish. Last night we took a trip to Petco and picked out 2. We didn't want to get a lot in case they die. I don't even remember what kind of fish they are but they are supposed to be good for little ponds. Since these are our first pets I thought I would document it. I'm sure my family is shocked that we got fish seeing how they all think I hate animals. That is not entirely true. So here we are with our fish.
So I went out there to see if I could see the fish after church and ummm well I couldn't find them. I'm hoping they are just hiding. Could I really kill 2 fish in less than 24 hours. That would make me really sad if they really aren't there. I'll have to have Jesse go look.

Camping

Over Memorial Day weekend we went camping with 2 other couples from our ward at a lake near by. It was a lot of fun but a little humid. We were able to take the kayaks and have some fun on the lake and then they have a nice beach area so we went and played on it for awhile too. I love camping its so nice to be outside and enjoy the beauty around. Here is Chloe she really liked Michelle and Roger's raft.
Here is a picture of the Johnson's. They are our new friends and man we we love to hang out with them. We went to the beach last weekend with them. Jill is a rec major too so we get a long great. This was Chloe's first time in a kayak and she loved it.
While we were playing at the lake Roge and Michelle brought a swim cap for us to play with. We got it big enough for Michelle to fit it. We also got it big enough for Mike to sit in and he is 6' 6". While he was in it it ripped and its all on video but I don't have the video yet.
Here we are except Jill (who is taking the picture) and Chloe who was eating a lot of sand! I love our new ward and I'm so grateful to have such great friends.

Surf and Turf Triathlon

Right before the race began. We did a team triathlon and came in 3 out of 11!And we are off
We are off swimming. This part of the swim was the hardest just getting through the waves, after that it was a lot easier.
Here I come out of the water...this was a little bit harder than I thought it would be
Here is our team: Me, Emily, Rebecca
Jesse fishing
Jesse and I took a picture together but when I uploaded it on the computer the background was in focus but we were not. And that is the only picture I had a of the two of us. That's what happens when you are the photographer.

Ice Cream Rules

http://www.inwsupply.com/gallon-bunny-tracks.jpg
I learned tonight that there are Ice Cream Rules in our house. According to Jesse they are:
Rule 1: Maintain the symmetry
Rule 5: No tunneling
Rule 10: No low tech means of sonar in order to find bunnies (aka the fork jab)
Rule 12: Clean up after yourself

Now the other rules are to be decided by my wonderful husband seeing how he just made these up tonight after I dug a tunnel in his ice cream =) And a couple hours later he is still complaining that I made a tunnel through his ice cream to eat the good stuff (chocolate, caramel, bunnies, and no ice cream). Oh wait as I write...still complaining and this is not with just bunny tracks but all ice cream except Rule 10 cannot apply to all ice cream. I do not agree with these rules!! I am not as crazy or should I say anal about eating my ice cream as my husband=)

Busy Weekend

Last night was so great after work and then kayaking we decided to go out to eat. We heard about this German restaurant and went there, well it happened to be their party night. There was a table of German's a table of Italian's and then us. Well little did we know it was party night and everyone was dancing around. Well really it was a 72 year old lady, another man, and the servers. It was so entertaining I had to take a picture but only had my cell phone so they aren't the best pictures.
The food was pretty good I had this(the picture below) I can't spell it man why haven't I learned German yet? Anyways it was German pasta with a mushroom gravy and chicken. Jesse had bratwurst, his was all gone by the time I got my camera out.
More dancing. This restaurant was small but tons of fun. We totally want to go next month for their party night.
Because it is getting so hot here we decided to take the down comforter off the bed and put on the quilt which is a lot lighter. It looks so great on our bed. Thanks Mama P.

I've been busy the last couple of days that's for sure. I went with some friends Friday and picked a ton of strawberries which has led to lots of jam making. I called grandma and got my grandpa's strawberry jam recipe which is really easy and went to work. I made 2 batches Friday night then last night I made another batch with pectin from Germany. A lady from work gave it to me and its great because it uses a lot less sugar. I think the jam is so pretty in the jars and it tastes pretty good too.

15 jars of jam and I still have a lot more strawberries in the fridge. Mmmmmm I love spring time!
Here is Jesse cleaning up after me =) I have such a great husband.
Here is our Strawberry Trifle.....it was so good!

Here are our new couches. They are so comfortable!

Back to the Singles Ward

WHAT??? That was my reaction today too. Jesse and I met with the stake president and was extended the call as 2nd counselor to the singles branch out here. I still don't know what to think about it...well actually I'm kind of sad actually and I know you aren't supposed to feel that way when you get a calling. I am sad to leave my wonderful ward and my nursery calling. I was finally getting to know more people and get invited to things. Oh and sitting next to my husband now that he is home for awhile...well that's not going to happen for awhile.
I know that Jesse will be great in his new calling and we will be able to do a lot for the singles branch out here because it really struggles seeing how people are always getting deployed. I am also excited that I get to sleep in on Sunday's since church will be at 11:00. Jesse thinks he will get to sleep in but we will see. I also know that the Lord will bless us and we are going to be in the singles ward for a reason even if know that is not known to us I'm sure we will see it soon.
Well that's the update on us. Oh and Jesse is home for awhile YEAH! He will start language school sometime soon and then do more training so maybe we will settle down into married life. Its going to be such a change having him around.
