Weekend Fun

Saturday morning Jesse had to wake up ridiculously early to go jump. I have been wanting to watch him jump since we have been married and Saturday was the first opportunity I had. Of course it was cold Saturday morning but thats okay it was still fun. Below is Jesse waiting with his group:Now his group is in line waiting to board the plane
Here they go onto the plane
Here they are jumping out of the plane. Jesse couldn't remember if he was 3rd or 4th jumping out of the plane so he could be either of these 2. I really enjoyed watching them jump out of the plane its so fun.
Here they are about to land. They got to use new parachutes this time.
I took these 2 pictures this morning for Erin since she asked me to post more pictures. Good thing cameras have self timers. Tomorrow I will be 32 weeks. Its crazy how fast the time is going.

Don't I look great. This is how I look after being lazy all day Saturday and not doing much at all. It was a nice and relaxing Sunday thats for sure. And don't miss the sweet Army sweatshirt I'm sporting...hahaha. Okay anyways here are some pictures of our chicks. The yellow ones are getting so big and they are so much bigger than the reds.
I love the little red ones. The one below is develed. We are naming them all after different kinds of eggs and this is the first one to get a name because he has the most feathers. Other names will be sunny, fried, poached... and some others.
Jesse made them a little perch to sit on so one of the yellows is trying it out
Here are the six hanging out in their box and being scared of the flash it was pretty funny
See how much bigger the yellow one is than the red... crazy.
Well all 6 chicks are alive and seem to be doing well. Hopefully we can get there coop built soon so they can go outside and enjoy the sunshine.

I started my seeds a lot earlier than I did last year and some of them are already sprouting its great. Thanks to my sister-in-law Emily I decided to plant seeds in little cups. Its cheap and so far working great. Thanks Emily. The seeds seem to be liking their soil and their spot on my kitchen table. Below are the marigolds that have started coming up. I think last year I had 2 that came up, this year they are doing much better.

Here is one of my pea sprouts. I'm super excited about having peas in my garden this year. They have come up pretty fast and I'm super excited.

Our chickens are still alive and doing great. I am getting bigger and will hopefully post more pictures of our chickens and my "fat" belly soon.

A busy Saturday

Saturday was a very busy day. It started at 7:30am when I was wide awake. I got up a little annoyed that it was so early but I got up anyways and made muffins, then I cleaned the cupboard under the sink while the muffins were cooking, studied my scriptures, planted seeds for my garden, made a cd for Jill. Then I made this super cute onsie for Rex. I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to make this. It was super easy with some freezer paper and paint.
Last week I started to clean out the pond area, it still has a long way to goWe also went to Lowes and got dirt for our garden. We had picked up these containers a couple weeks ago and now they are filled just waiting to be planted. We got an unfinished dresser a couple of weeks ago and then put a clear finish over it and this is what it looks like. We love it and its nice to have a bigger dresser. Then for our exciting news we got 6 chicks!
Chloe came over today to look at the chicks today. She liked to look at them and pet them but not hold them.

Jesse with one of our chicks
Aren't they so cute. The red ones are friendly than the yellow ones.
Chloe not wanting to hold the chick it was pretty funny. Then to continue on Saturday I sanded and then painted a picture frame I got at the thrift store I'll post pictures of that when its finished, made business cards and started to put baby things away. It was a busy day and thank goodness today is Sunday because I am tired.

A Great Sunday

Today we went on a walk by Mott Lake. This is a lake on post and we have kayaked it before but since its Sunday we just went for a nice walk. We have decided that we should make a tradition going on Sunday walks. So far we are 2 for 2.The sky was so pretty. I loved how the sun was trying to shine through the clouds. Oh and I love that its day light savings because now it stays lighter longer which means spring and summer are almost here.
I really like random trees sticking out of the lake. This one is dead for sure and we were debating on how long we thought it had been there.
Another silly tree sticking out of the water
I like the bright color of the moss around the trees. There isn't much green this time of year so I thought it was fun to take pictures of it
My friend Jill had her baby last Tuesday and today I went and took pictures of him. Oh man he is so cute and has to be one of the cutest babies ever. There are more pictures of him on my photography blog so please feel free to look and comment on them.

Fresh Mozzarella Penne Pasta

I found this on someone ones blog a week or two ago and it sounded sooo good. Maybe because I learned to love fresh mozzarella, basil, and tomatoes taste together thanks to the Cherry Chubbs. Anyways here is the recipe

8 ounces fresh mozzarella cut into small cubes
3 medium tomatoes or 5-6 roma tomatoes diced
2 avocados peeled and diced
3-4 cloves garlic-minced(or whatever its called when you crush them)
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup fresh chopped basil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon coarse salt (used sea salt)
Ground pepper to taste
1 tsp crushed red pepper (can be strong so add more or less depending on your taste buds)

Mix all the above together and let sit for 30 min at room temperature
Cook 16 ounces of penne pasta (I used other and it was fine)

Mix noodles into other mixture, toss and enjoy

Should have taken a picture but I forgot. This would be a great summer salad especially if you grow most in your garden.....yeah summer is coming ahh warm weather oh and I guess a baby! Yikes this summer is going to be different that's for sure

Happy Birthday Kerry and other things

Happy Birthday Kerry!!
sure do miss you. I wish we could live closer so we could go hiking, climbing, quilt, take pictures, and work in the garden together. Maybe one day will be closer but for now I wish you a very happy birthday and hope to see you this summer. So I like to look at lots of different blogs, yes its bad sometimes I loose a lot of time but sometimes I find fun things to make like this sign. I'm not sure why the mod podge shows so much in this picture it doesn't look that bad in person. Anyways I made this sign this weekend while watching Chloe. We had craft time. She colored sponge bob and I painted this. There are so many great ideas out there and I'm glad I have the time to make some fun things.

Today was a beautiful sunny day. And it was even warm! Since it was so nice Jesse and I didn't want to sit around the house so we decided to take a walk and we went to a park in town called Mazrik park. I had been there once before while I did the tri-camp a few years ago.

The path that we took goes along this little lake. I think the lakes out here are so cool and I can't wait until things start to turn green. One of my favorite things about the lakes out here are they have trees coming up in the middle of them. Like the picture below. I know its kind of hard to see but this tree is sticking up out in the middle of the lake.
Here are more cool trees

There were 2 geese swimming around and they are fun to take pictures of. I think they make the pictures look pretty. I have noticed I like taking pictures of birds and it seems to be a lot of geese and seagulls.

Here is a picture of the sunset on our drive home. Its kind of hard to take a clear picture in a moving jeep. I promise next blog will be a picture of me being pregnant as requested by some (grandma).
