Its study time

Monday Jesse started his 18 delta course for Special Forces which means he gets to study a whole lot. When I got home the other night this is the stack of books I saw and my mouth just fell open.

This stack is only for the next 6 months! They go over at least 3 chapters a day and more and have a test about once a week. So pretty much I have lost my husband to his books for the next year and a half. I guess I better get some projects going.Oh and doesn't he look so happy to be studying? Good thing he has to go through this stuff now while its cold outside and not during the summer. Well I guess this program is a year long but the hard part is the first 6 months

Dinner in a pumpkin

2 Sundays ago I made dinner in a pumpkin. It tasted pretty good if you like pumpkin. I remember my roommate Emily making it last year and I wanted to be festive this fall so I made the dinner and Jesse made pumpkin cheesecake which turned out okay, not the best but still good. It was fun having a creative dinner we aren't home much for dinner so I guess any dinner where we eat at the dinner table is nice. It was also fun to have friends over. So here are some pictures of the dinner:

French Bread

This bread is super good and its even easy to half the recipe to make only one loaf. Jesse did that this week so we don't have so much bread. Here is the great recipe
2 tablespoons yeast + 1/2 cup water + 1 tablespoon sugar add together let yeast rise
3 cups warm water
1/2-1/2 cups sugar
1 tablespoon salt
8 cups flour

Add 3 cups water with sugar, salt and yeast mixture
Beat in flour
Knead until elastic and smooth (ours used more than 8 cups of flour)
Let rise until double in size
Knead and then make loaves
Let rise until double again
Bake at 400 degrees for 30 minutes until crust is golden brown.

Beware it makes a lot of bread but it is sooooo good.

So far this month.....

I have been biking with a friend once a week so I thought I would take some picture of where we go. Here is a cotton fieldAnd more cotton
Some horses. I know the pictures aren't the best but thats what happens when you take them while you are in a moving car
There are a lot of old buildings like this around here. I think its odd how they just let the trees and plants grow in and around them

Here is my sewing machine that I have had for awhile now. I got it when my great grandma passed away. I love this machine it has made lots and lots of jean blankets and baby blankets and more. The only thing I didn't like on it was the finish on it. It was yellow and had some water damage

So after a few weeks well maybe months we finally got it sanded. That took forever because sanding makes you really dirty. Well the fun and easy part was staining it. We decided to go for a darker color so here it is. Its all put back together and I love the way it looks

So a lady I talk to all the time at work gave this to me today. Its a surger, I'm not sure what to do with it exactly but I'm sure once my mother-in-law Kathy comes I'm sure she can help me.

Things that make me smile

So I go walking every morning (well almost). I go with some ladies from church that live in my neighborhood. One is super pregnant and has 2 other kids that go on the walk with them. Since I'm such a nice person I push the double stroller. I figure it will help me get in shape by pushing more weight. Well here is a picture of Bella. Her expression really makes me laugh.

Since I'm having so much fun on photoshop I did this to the picture:Now it really makes me laugh. Most the time Bella is telling me "NO" when I push her and is moving around making it even harder to push. The day i took the pictures she was all smiles. Maybe I should bring my camera more often
