Taipei November 2016 Day 1 and 2

We caught a decent hour flight on Peach to Taipei. I like how cheap the tickets are but don't really love Peach. Especially their terminal its so dirty. Kade got to sit across the aisle from us.
The 3 of us ready to go.

We made it to Taipei, found the bus we needed and made it into the city. Then we got a taxi to our airbnb and met up with the Tolberts. This is Jodie and she loves Jack even though she has a brother the same age as Jack.

We hit the ground running and took the metro up to Shifen to see the waterfall and lanterns. When we got off the metro there are all these drivers waiting outside by this big sign so you can pick your trip and get a driver. All 11 of us fit into one cab.

Awful lighting but hey we are all in a picture with the waterfall. They call this the Niagra of Taipei. Yeah it really doesn't compare at all to Niagra Falls.

One tradition that they have is to write wishes on a lantern and let it go into the sky. There is a festival once a year but in Shifen they do it everyday so we got to go and do it. It was really fun to let the kids write their wishes. Kade wished for more money. Then they help you light it and send it into the sky.

Playing some silly shooting game

We then went to this little market place and it stunk so bad I wanted to throw up the whole time. The smell was out of control and it didn't help that I wasn't feel well to start with.  We were trying to find someplace to eat and nothing sounded good and then Logan spotted this pizza place and it was heaven sent. We ordered a ton of pizza which was really good and chilled out where it didn't stink.

random masks we found.

Our airbnb wasn't that great but it worked it had 2 beds and a bathroom and that was it.

We also got to cram in the elevator to go up our 9 floors to our room. The nice thing was we had a room right next to the Tolberts so that was super handy.

Day 2 we went and rode the gondola ride and went to the zoo.

Playing on our way up.

Love all the random statues that are in Asia

Matt had to go home and Eva and I headed to the zoo. It was a painful zoo experience. Seth kept wandering off and Jack was overtired and there were a ton of people there it was crazy. When we went in December last year it was so great I was annoyed there were so many people

Grumpy kids having a snack and water break.

Boys always think poop and butts are so funny.
