Kyoto Day 1

This one time Kade and I hoped on a plane and left the other 2 kids with the Lum's. After Seth's horrible attitude in Taipei I wasn't looking forward to taking him or Jack to Kyoto and Kami convinced me to have them stay with her. I'm so glad I did. Kade and I had a great trip.

Kyoto isn't that far but by the time you catch a flight then a train and then the metro its a whole day. We found a ramen place to eat and it was really good. I love Japanese restaurants because they are so quick.

There was a mix up with the airbnb and we ended up having to stay the night in a place that wasn't what we booked. Instead of 2 beds it only had 1 and then the traditional mats. We gave Chrissy the bed and Kade and I took the floor.

Sound asleep

Our first full day in Kyoto we went to the Fushimi Inari Shrine. At first it was crowded but as we hiked up  there were less and less people.

So many Torii gates

This guy is a trooper

A jumping picture for Erin. It took lots and lots of takes. We learned we needed lots of light to get a non blurry picture

Here is a picture of all 3 of us

Lots of fall colors

We also stopped and saw the Fushimi Castle. It would have been so cool to go in but it was closed.

So many amazing fall colors

The grounds at the castle were incredible

We walked around the Tofukuji-ji temple grounds and wow the fall colors are out of control. Soooo amazing.

A sea of red, orange and yellow

We went to the famous Fire Ramen and it was good and so much fun. The staff there was amazing

Mid afternoon we had to switch airbnb's which was annoying but part of life. We ended up with a nicer room and Kade was so excited to take a bath because it had a tv in there. The bathtub was so deep too.  We were all pretty tired after our first day.
