RSVP for Our Wedding

Our reception site has been changed due to the weather. We will now be having it at the LDS institute. It is located on California St across the street and train tracks from the Cal Poly football stadium. There will be signs and balloons out to show the way. Thanks and we can't wait to see you! If you do not want to RSVP here you can send an RSVP to my e-mail at jamesfarfar@hotmail.com.

13 days but whose counting??

Today has been a great day. One its Sunday. Two I get to see Jesse in a week. Three we went to see Christmas lights. Four my friends had a dinner for me. Five I get married in less than 2 weeks.
Tonight we had dinner at Jen and Scott Wilson's house. She is an old Cherry Chubb that I never lived with but she might as well be considered an old roommate because she was always over at the house. She has the two cutiest kids. Sarah and Karl were also there with their boys. And of course my roommates were there. Jen made soup and salad, Em made her amazing breadsticks and Sarah made an awesome pumpkin cobbler. It was all soo good. After dinner there I went up to the Avery's for Henry's birthday (my piece of cake got eaten by a 2 year old but thats okay I was really full). It was fun to see the Avery family along with the Carlisle family. After the Avery's Emily, Kate, Cathy and I piled into Brittany's car and drove around to see Christmas lights.I didn't take any pictures of the lights it was too cold to roll the window down so I took some pictures of us in the back seat. As you can tell I didn't do the best job. Sometimes having a big camera is not always so nice becasue its hard to take pictures of yourself and friends. I would have taken more but the flash was a little bright. Sorry Kate and Brittany I couldn't get a picture of you in the front.

I really do like Christmas season even though this year I haven't really been in the Christmas mood. Hopefully I will be when I go home or maybe its this whole wedding thing that is throwing everything off. There is a lot going on but I should be able to get into the Christmas spirit. Maybe its because they try to start celebrating Christmas before Halloween. I really hate that, all the silly Christmas things out in October...man give it a rest. Well 13 more days until I get married. It sure is coming up fast.

Jordan River Temple

So a couple of weeks ago Emily and I went to the Jordan River Temple. She had the day off work and I only had school in the morning so we took off and went to the temple. We wanted to go to the Jordan River Temple because neither one of us had ever been. It is really pretty (well I'm not sure there is a temple that is not pretty). I love going to the temple and I love having one so close. I have been spoiled and blessed by having a temple less than 10 minutes away.

My Poor Phone

So today was turning out to be a great day. I got a ride to school from Emily because I missed my bus..oops. Good thing she was on her way to work. I only had one class today and then had lots of time to read and do homework. Two of my classes were canceled. I hung out and went to Institute which is always great. My teacher Sister Hepworth wasn't very nice to me today because last week I gave her a wedding invitation and I guess I had never really told her I was dating anyone or engaged (who knew you were supposed to tell your institute teacher everything) anyways I get to class and she had scanned my invitation and put it on her power point! I turned bright red and was so embarrassed because I hate when people introduce themselves as being engaged. Yes I am engaged but I am still me. Anyways I got over that embarressing momement and caught the bus home and then just hung out until I caught the bus for work. I like just having time to relaz when I'm at home.
I planned on working out but my bus was really late so I didn't have enough time. I went to talk to one of the guards on deck and we were talking about working out on missions so i laid down and was showing her how my companions and I used to work out which pretty much consisted of laying there on my back for 5 minutes pretending to stretch until i woke up. Well when I jumped back up my phone went flying out of my pocket did a bounce or two on the deck and then splash into the pool. Good thing it was in the shallow end because I just stuck my arm in and pulled it out and ripped out the battery and hopefully saved my phone. I will be very sad if it does not work tomorrow. My dad said his phone got washed once and it still works so I have hope that it will be okay. Anyways I am letting my phone dry now and hopefully can use it tomorrow night. The bad thing about having a cell phone is you don't have to memorize phone numbers so not only do I not have a phone but I don't remember anyones number. Hopefully I will not have to make any important phone calls tomorrow.
Well that is the exciting story of my cell phone adventures. Today has been an overall good day because I got to come home earlier than expected!! The scuba divers got out of the water so much earlier today than they did yesterday! Thank you scuba divers.

Halloween!!!
Noah, Max and Sarah came trick or treating at our house! Emily, Noah and I raked a bunch of leaves in our front yard so we could play in them. The huge tree in our yard has dropped sooo many leaves its great. This huge pile is not even all of them.

Noah and Sarah had a great time playing in the leaves. I think Noah had a great time. He actually gave me a hug and a kiss when he left. It was so cute. Max played in the leaves too but he wasn't so sure about them.
Noah and I also picked our last pumpkin. Its the best looking pumpkin even if it is green, its huge!

After the Jarvis' left Emily and I carved our pumpkins. We decided to carve our pumpkins in our driveway because it was easier to clean up and it was so warm outside. It was funny we ended up carving similar pumpkins and we didn't even try. This is the front of our house. We had a Halloween Party so we had to decorate. I really like hanging spider webs they are so much fun. Emily also bought Halloween lights and it was great, so festive, oh and Kate hung ghosts in our tree.
This is my pumpkin. I gave him a uni brow but you can't really tell in this picture. Emily did a great job with her teeth they looked great.

Emily also made homemade root beer. We had to buy this little container to make it because Myriah was not around to sit on the lid like she did in the past. I thought the steam coming out looked pretty cool. I love homemade rootbeer its sooo good.

During our party we bobbed for apples. Erik is from our ward and was the first to go. Kate was awesome and dunked her whole head. I really like how Cathy put a towel on her head to protect her hair. We really had a lot of fun and laughed a lot.- Who knew it could be so entertaining.

Above is a picture of me and my friend Maggie. I was a postman from Brasil and she was Sarah Palin. Below is a picture of Kate (a puppy dog), Emily (I'm not sure if she ever had an official title but she looked awesome), and me again.

Here is a picture of us and our pumpkins. Kate didn't have time to decorate her pumpkin. Below is a picture of Emily dancing in the front yard or maybe she is flying because she has my awesome red cape on.

Emily really likes to catch her lucky leaf so she was waiting for that one lucky leaf to fall so she could catch it. Its amazing how many leaves have fallen off of our tree.

Here I am showing off my cool Brasilian post office shirt. Oh and I'm a Postwoman from southern brasil, thats why I have such great pants on.
We forgot to take a picture of our really cool table last night so I did it this morning. We had so much food: sugar cookies, spider cookies, blood eye cookies, 7 layer dip with pumpkin, spinach and artichoke dip, apples to dip in carmel and chocolate and lots and lots of candy. We ate soo much it was soo great and I ate soo much.

These are our spider cookies that we decided looked more like gobblins or swamp monsters. We grew up making these during the Christmas season but somehow Emily and I decided a couple of years ago to make them at Halloween and it stuck so now a new tradtion. This year I added red hots for eyes and they turned out great.

Here is a plate of our cookies. They are soo tasty!
Halloween was so great. I think holidays with kids are so much better and I am so glad that Sarah brought her kids over. I forgot to say that we had 4 trick or treaters, I guess people don't really like our street...so sad lots of kids missed out on great candy.

My trip to SLO

I went to SLO this past weekend to plan our wedding and while there Isabelle gave me a bridal shower. It was a lot of fun and I had to show the quilt that Jesse's mom made for us. I still can't believe how beautiful it is and how fast she made it. Thank you Kathy and whoever else helped her make it. I love it!! The front side is the pretty side and look it even has the LA temple how awesome. The backside represents our personalities. She really did an amazing job, too bad I can't use it yet since I had to leave it in SLO.

Auntie Al gave us a pig ice cream scooper and I think it is awesome. I think I will have to teach Jesse how to use it. He thinks a spoon works just fine but now we have a pig ice cream scooper its so cool.
Here is a picture of Grace and I had to put this one in here because she took all the wrapping paper, tissue paper, and ribbon and dressed herself up. She was even going through the trash to find stuff that we had thrown out. She was so cute.

Kokopelli

This past weekend I was convinced by two of my friends to participate in the Kokopelli Triathlon. I'm not really sure what I was thinking. I signed up Wednesday afternoon and then raced on Saturday without any training. Well i guess my training consisted of swimming 15 minutes at an inservice the week before, running a mile on the treadmill, and biking to work and school.
The Triathlon was great and a lot better than I could have imagined. I actually finished in under 2 hours so that was exciting. Friday afternoon I headed down to St George with Cathy and Emily. On our way down we stopped at the red barn in Santaquin (or around that area) and tried their world famous ice cream...well Emily and Cathy did. I had an Apple Cider Slushie which was very tasty. We made it down to St George in time to sign in for our triathlon and get our numbers. Then it was off to the hotel to get rested for the race. I shared a room with Melanie and Melissa because Em and Cathy didn't want to wake up at 5:00am but either did I. I guess you have no choice when your the triathlete.
We left our hotel at 5:30 am and got to the lake in plenty of time to get all set up and see Melissa start her race. Melanie and I were in a different heat since we did the short distance which was a 1/2 mile swim, 12 mile bike, and 5k run. Below are some pictures from the race.

To start the race everyone just stands behind some floating triangles and then they tell you to go. Its crazy everyone swimming on top of each other but the further you get out the better it gets and you spread out. We had to swim around 3 orange floating triangles. The swim was great and the water was warm and very clear the only complaint I have is all the seaweed that got in my mouth. I know it wasn't seaweed exactly but little floating plants. The bottom picture is the boat ramp we had to run on and man that hurts your feet.

Last there was the run and man o man did I have to pee. The run was on a trail which meant it was really sandy being in Southern Utah and I did not like that very much. Also wearing all black in the desert at noon is not the smartest thing to do...I will not do that again. Here is a picture of Melanie running up the hill to the finish line. This is a picture of me at the beginning of the run when I was happy.

Here is a picture of Melanie and I right after she finished the race. I had come in just a few minutes in front of her and we were enjoying the free food they give you afterwards and a nice new water bottle.

Here are some pretty pictures after we finished our race. And of course Em was there to cheer us on. Cathy and Em were the best cheerleaders and took a ton of pictures of the 3 of us.

After we finished the race we got cleaned up and then went and ate at Cafe Rio (the cherry chubb tradition) Then we headed down to Vegas. We went to Melanie's and rested a little bit before going to check out Dan and Melissa's new house. They had to do a final walk through and we went a long. We took a walk when we got there and it was the coolest neighborhood park i have ever seen. It had all these great water features for kids to play in. Emily and I had to run through the tunnel that sprayed water. After Melissa's we went and ate at buffet that Melanie paid for and then we went to the Bellagio and watched the water show after we walked through their indoor garden which was really pretty. Here are some silly pictures of us waiting for the next water show.

Sunday we went to church with Melanie and then we were back in the car heading home. On our drive down we talked about going to Cove Fort and so when we got close we pulled off and had a tour of Cove Fort. It was a lot of fun and our guide was great. There is a picture of him below. It was a nice break in our trip and it was cool to go to a church history site too.

We got to play with these metal rings and I can't think of what they are called. In the picture on the left I was just about to run into Emily. You use the stick to get the ring rolling and then you can steer it with that thing. It was a lot of fun.

And last but not least I thought I would throw a picture in of the girls I worked with this summer. I guess working with them really helped me train for the triathlon. This is all of them but two.
