Ichihanari Art Festival

There is an art festival here that has you go on a scavenger hunt and walk through towns of 4 islands to see the art work and view points. Some of the places you even got stamps which was a great way to keep the kids moving. We were able to get all our stamps and ended up getting cute little button/magnets. We had a lot of fun and went with the Tolberts, Lewis's and Maynes. I even pulled Kade out of school so we wouldn't have to rush home and get him. It was a great experience and here are some things we saw.

Went in a cool museum that had lots of boats.

This is someones house! they had the art pieces in local houses.

This lady knew how to make the most intricate snowflakes.

Bouys in a tree is art!

This wall was awesome and was part of an old run down house.

One of the view points was on this little island and we had fun exploring it

You could climb the top to a shrine and this is the view from that! so gorgeous

Bingata painted kimonos

More bingata painting

This exhibit was so random but I loved it. Carved corks into faces

Totally random

all sorts of hanging shapes made out of string and reeds.

Another view point from the top of Miyagi Island

Not sure

This one was even more random

We also visited the old village ruins on Ikei Island. These were just the perfect size for Easton and Jack

Hermit crabs are everywhere

These pictures aren't in order at all but love this picture of my little family

Here is the shrine at the top of that little island view point

The boys loved the goat display

Love all the fishing boats and the color of the water.

More village pictures

Fun random pictures of Jack

Such a poser

Easton showing off his muscles. He also has amazing hair

The view from the little beach we were at was amazing! i want to paddle board along that cliff

Trying to find fish

My boys acting like they are part of the Mayne Family

We will be going back to this beach for a photo shoot.

Its just amazing

There have been lots and lots of Jelly fish out this year. The kids were checking out the one that had washed up.

These two were troopers and did an amazing day all day.

I really can't imagine living in a house like this. I find it fascinating and wonder how they make it through typhoons. It was such a neat experience to be able to walk through the towns and get a feel fro how these people live. Totally makes me miss my mission at times.
