Wildwood Park

For our playdate this week we went to Wildwood Park.  Thanks to my friend Pam I was introduced to the park last year.  I love the little stream that goes through the park its maybe 2 inces deep so perfect for kids to run in,.  Kade loved the bridges.

Im noticing most of the pictures of Seth are in his stroller. I can't hold both the camera and Seth, he is getting so big.

Phone pictures for the week

I bought this today at Target it was 50% off.  Kade loved it!  He kept saying baseball over and over.  My brother told me i need to have Kade practice throwing with his right and left arm so he can be an awesome baseball player.  So Uncle Mark this is for you.  Kade was so excited that the ball stuck.  I think we will be playing with this a lot more and I'm excited to take it camping.

We've had lots of pool time this week.  Its been so nice this last week.  We have been having some crazy summer storms with lightening and thunder its so fun, it makes me miss North Carolina.  Kade loves his pool.

Seth is always smiling.  He hung out on the blanket while we played in the yard the other day. 

Hat, sunglasses, and flip flops are a must with this little boy.  He also has found a new love for his monkey blanket that Aunt Hailey gave him, and of course he still loves his ratty elephant

Kade's Quilt

Finally I have taken pictures of Kade's quilt.  This took me forever like over a year (we moved) to make this.  Once I sat down and sewed it went really fast but sitting down to do it was a different story.  I finished it just a few days before Seth was born and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.  I learned that I should follow a pattern and have it planned out before I start.  We call it Kade's Banana blanket.

I used 2 charm packs (I think) and then bought who knows how much of the white and border fabric.  I love th bright colors.

At first I was going to make it for a twin bed so I bought a ton of extra fabric, but then I decided not to.  Well that was kind of expensive and so I used the extra fabric for the back. 

I bought a walking foot so I could quilt it. Jesse's aunt suggested that I quilt it 1/4 inch on each side of the ditch.  so glad I did because I love how it turned out.

Now onto the next quilt...sitting down to sew is the hardest part...why is that???

4th of July

4th of July was fun we started the morning off by going onto Post to the freedom festival.  We met Katherine and Matthew there and walked around and the boys did so good.  It was a really fun 4th I'm glad we got out and the weather was awesome.

Kade won a bear playing a game. He just had to throw the ping pong ball into the red cup and he won the bear.  It helped that he was right over the cup.   He is watching katherine throw the ping pong balls into a cup.

Kade saw the geko and ran right over to him.  He touched him and then just sat down by his feet.  i think he was just in awe at how big it was. 

As we were leaving I decided to let Kade ride a pony. He really wanted to ride the train but I thought it would be more fun for him to ride a pony.  He has never been on one before and seemed to like it.  He never showed a huge smile but he was content the whole time and never got scared.

After his nap we decorated our flag cake.  I want to start a few traditions and this is once of them.  Growing up the Kunde's always made a flag cake for the 4th and well we always ate it.  I didn't have strawberries so I used raspberries instead.  It turned out yummy and Kade helped line up the berries.  He would eat one and then put one on the cake then go to put another one on the cake and eat it instead.  He thought he was so funny

First off I have to say that I LOVE this picture.  We went across the street to the Heindels for dinner.  Lindy runs a day care and had a high chair out so I put Seth in one while I cleaned up Kade.  I came turned around and saw Seth with his leg propped up.  This little guy hasn't stopped drooling.

Then we came back across the street to Ken and Pam's for a second dinner and to hang out and watch fireworks.  Seth in awe of the fireworks hanging out with Pam

I didn't get any pictures of the fireworks because Kade was totally freaked out.  The Heindels bought a ton of fireworks and not the small ones the huge ones from the reservations.  Here you are allowed to light them off at your house.  Our neighborhood was crazy well every where around us was.  Next year I'm watching them from the roof.  Kad didn't like the loud booms, he was so tired he fell asleep on my lap which was cute and Seth just stared at them in amazement.

Happy 4th of July!!!  I made the boys shirts.  I really do love pintrest and all the ideas you can get from it.  Hope everyone is having a great day

So i thought i could flip pics in blogger but i guess not and im too lazy to change it so enjoy the pics sideways.  Kade loves the $3.00 basketball hoop I got him. He's getting pretty good and asks for it to be higher.

He only likes wearing basketball shorts these days.  I pretty much just love this outfit

I got a small mole removed and now im going to have a scar thats twice the size, kind of dumb but too late now.

Jesse:"did you get that face" me: yes yes I did!  Kade is 95% potty trained.  I don't want to say 100% because i know he will still have some accidents.  He is really getting the hang of it and its so exciting to see. We used treats and a sticker chart and it seemed to work.  Then we went to the mall after his sticker chart was full to get Buzz.  Toy Story has been very popular at our house.  I went and got the second one this week at Costco because I am starting to get tired of the first and that can't happen since its my favorite.

A week or so ago I bought strawberries because they were on sale and guess what they were from Santa Maria!  Well they were getting all moldy and going bad so fast so at 11pm I started making jam.  Not the best idea but I had to get it done.  Jesse even came in to help.  I got 14 jars done in about an hour and a half.  And its soooo good.  if you want some you will have to come visit.

Kade sure does make it hard to get a good picture.  So today I felt we were kind of festive, I made Kade's tie last year or the year before, I love that it still fits.  Then last night I finally made this skirt.  I've been wanting to make it for a long time and last night I sat down and did it.  Then this morning i decided Seth needed to match and so here we are.  Thanks Pam for trying to get a picture of us.

I layed Seth down for a second and I'm not sure he is a huge fan of the grass. And it was kind of bright out there (bright through the clouds that is)  Isn't he sooo cute!

Wow isn't this a fantastic picture! not! sigh, i look fat and my boobs are HUGE!  My skirt however is super comfy I think i might try to make another one.  I learned I'm not a huge fan of knit but I really like my surger.  Now I just need to find the motivation to finish that quilt I'm working on.
