37 weeks and the jeep

37 weeks this week. Where is the time going?? I think I need more iron so my goal is to eat more iron spinach here I come.

I love Kade's faces. He was so excited to stand on the stool and hold the sign.

If you didn't know Kade has been really into jumping. He likes to stand on the bottom step and jump off. He thinks he is so cool.

When we got home today I let Kade play in Jesse's jeep. He loves to drive it.

The weather hasn't been horrible. It was raining a little bit this morning but then the sun came out with some beautiful clouds.

We are going someplace serious. He may have said the pool, but not sure. I love sticking him in the jeep because he is contained...hehe He really does love it. The more Kade loves the jeep the more Jesse wants to keep it. Not sure if we will ever get rid of the jeep.

Bed, bag, and finger painting

I was going to wait until the room was all done before posting these but then after making Kade's bed today and watching him put all his animals up there I decided I should take pictures tonight.

Kade loves his friends, he has his lion from christmas, a bear that was at Great grandma Helen's house, the green bear form GG, an elephant knitted by Aunt Megan, his elephant is burried under there somewhere, tigger from his baby shower, and then my panda who is nice and cleaned today since he was sitting in pee...poor panda! His diaper just leaked and I didn't notice it until too late

Happy boy! I found his bedspread at burlington coat facotry for around $30. I was super excited about the price and got another one so the boys will have matching beds...one day. I then made the cheveron pillow case out of left over fabric from the valances. I'm happy with the way the room is coming together

He is so small in his bed! I now just need something above his bed. I'm thinking pictures of the boys but not sure. I just know its empty

This is how we get off the bed. I have been very lucky and he has done amazing in his bed. He stays in it. Doesn't get down until I open the door. He does however really like to look out the window and play with his curtains, especially during nap time.

This is how we get up on the bed. I love that stool. I had my grandma paint it when she was visiting when Kade was born. The stool moves around the upstairs depending on where Kade needs it. I love that he as figured out that he can move it by himself. It is used to get books down/put away, get up on his bed, reach something off the counter, and turn the lights on and off. I love that he has learned how to turn the lights on becuase it saves me a trip up the stairs and we are working on turning the lights off when he goes to bed. Maybe I should have my grandma paint another stool when she comes....hmmmm

Can you find Kade?? He loves to have all his animals and I don't have a problem with it especially if he stays in his bed all night.

Today the sun was out and we played outside a little bit before going to the store. I made Kade a bag for all his cars/trains. He was always trying to carry too many and it was driving me crazy so now he can just put them in his bag and carry them.

Cute huh! I used a couple diffent ideas off of pintrest that I have tagged and then Jesse had some extra 550 cord and we used that for the handles.

I love this picture! This is the look I got when I asked him to turn around for a picture. Cracks me up! I also love that he has a 2t top actually that jacket might be 3T and then 12 month bottoms, and size 6 shoes. Grow little legs, grow!

I made finger paint the other day out of cornstarch and water. Thank you pintrest again. I love that site. Anyways I thought Kade would love it...come to find out he didn't. He doesn't like stuff on his hands/fingers. This is not okay with me. We will paint everyday until he is okay with getting his hands dirty!!!

I know I'm mean but this is how he threw his fit when he decided he was done and wanted out! Funny we painted last night with Embree and Tiffany and he lasted longer and now he sees the paints sitting out ont he counter and wants to paint so maybe he just has to warm up to the idea.

A new bed

This little guy is growing up!! There have been some big changes in our house. Well okay mainly one and that is Kade is now sleeping in a big bed. I finally got his bed set up i found a bed spred at burlington coat factory that matched his room and I also found a bed rail. So I set it up and figured lets give this a try.
He is getting kind of big for the pack n play. He had 2 blankets and about 5 stuffed animals in there with him. He also figured out that the matress part lifts up and would play with that forever and most the time it would be folded up and he would sleep half on the mattress and half on the bottom part. I figured maybe now was a good time to switch him. I didn't switch him because we need the pack n play for the baby. We actually got a new one because I wasn't going to move Kade. I didn't think we needed to change everything on him.
Well last night was a success in the new bed, then a nap today, and now he is asleep again. He seems to really like it and has gone right to bed. I know this wont always happen and I expect to find him sleeping on the floor sometime but I think he really likes his new bed. When I went up to get him this morning he just got down off his bed and went off to play! I think this may work!

Other new exciting news is Kade went poop on the toilet! I was so excited and I don't think that Kade knew what to do. He just wanted to play with his cars and trains...haha go figure.

We helped celebrate Jill's birthday over the weekend. Kade ate lots of sugar he loved the toppings for the cupcakes and then enjoyed his cupcake. He even did put a few decorations on top and then took them off and ate them. He wasn't so sure about the frosting at first but then loved it as you can tell from the pictures

Dri hosted Jill's orange themed birthday. All the cupcake decorations were orange and we all had fun decorating them. Jill's fish cupcake was my favorite

My high school friend Kjersten came to visit for a few days. We had planned to take the ferry over to Anderson Island but then it rained all day yesterday so we decided to go to Olympia and go to the childrens museum. Kade had a great time. He really just liked sitting in the cars and playing with the steering wheel. He played at the water table for a little bit and of course he loved the trains. I'm not sure who had more fun with the trains Kjersten or Kade.

They had this really cool wall that had those pegs in it so you could make cool imprints. Kjersten is above and then Kade thought it was fun to push the pegs in.

The museum had these little cages for animals and Kade crawled into one and shut the door. He was too funny.

Today was such a fun day. I have always wanted to see the troll. After watching 10 Things I Hate about you about a thousand times I was so excited. Well Jesse thought I was nuts and not to mention so did my sister in law Megan. Well it was today that I got to go see it because Kjersten wanted to see it just as much as I did. We found it with Kjersten's amazing skills. They were doing some construction around it but we could still go up to it. Kade loved it because he could watch the construction guys working. It was supposed to rain so we were all decked out in our rain gear.

After the troll we were cold so we went to a coffee shop that Kjersten really wanted to go to so Kade got chocolate milk in the cutest cup. I got hot chocolate in a cup that was a little bit bigger. It wasn't the best hot chocolate but Kjersten said her coffee was really good. I just love how cute the cup is that they gave to Kade.
After the coffee shop we went to REI and didn't find anything good. We were both to cheap. Then we went to Pike Place Market but I didn't get any pictures because we used Kjersten's camera. It was such a fun few days and I'm so glad we got to hang out. It was so fun to have a reason to go play. I can't wait utnil our family comes so we can go play more....now the weather just needs to be a little warmer.

34 weeks and more snow and some ice

I think I grew overnight. I looked in the mirror and went wow. I guess that could explain why i can't stop eating and I'm super tired. Oh the joys of the last month. I'm just praying this little guy will be smaller than 9.3lbs. Oh my check out my childs face!

Kade was actually excited to take the picture. Maybe because I let him stand on the stool.

As many have heard we have gotten a ton of snow. Probably somewhere between 6-8 inches. We had to go out and play!

Kade could barely walk in the snow. He ended up crawling around after he fell down. I love how he looks like a blue marshmellow.

A few plants and trees covered in ice I think they are so cool looking. They may look cool but man they sure are causing problems around here. There are a lot of trees that have fallen and hit power lines. We have been without power a lot today thanks to all the trees that have fallen over.

This may be my favorite picture that I took today.

This is how our street looked today when I was out taking pictures. These trees look so cool they remind me of the trees in Lord of the Rings. I'm so glad that my house is no where near these trees so I don't have to worry about them coming down on my house.

The snow has been fun. I felt a little house bound today because I just wanted to get out but there was no way I was going to drive in the crazy snow and ice. I am grateful for my hometeacher who came over to shovel my driveway and then took us to his house to have dinner with his family. So it can either continue to snow or all melt but please no more freezing rain.

Our pantry has been driving me crazy. The other day I went to get a can down and i had about 10 fall. Not cool. Our pantry is pretty organized but cans are never easy to stack.

I guess its clear that I'm nesting and trying to get everything done. Jesse better be pleased.

Looking on pintrest I have seen lots of different ideas but nothing I really liked or wanted to make until I saw these. They are just carboard and I had to put them together (which took awhile at first). The price was perfect it was $13 for a pack of four. Which makes them a little over $3 a holder. I thought that was a good deal.

Doesn't it look good. I still have lots of random cans on top but they are only things that I have one or 2 cans for. I also like how this helps you rotate your cans so you use the old one first. I got them from here you can order diffent sizes which is cool. While organizing the pantry I realized I have a ton of crackers. Good thing I like to eat crackers and cheese. Now the pantry is even more organized!!

Last night the Heindel's (our neighbors and members of our ward) came to get their sleds back..oops. They were out playing in the snow and having a snowball fight well that sounded like fun so off we went. Kade was so happy and loved running around in the snow at night. He also loves the Heindels they are all teenagers and they love him. Well last night Jasmine, Kade and I made a snowman and he looked pretty good. This morning not so much. I guess some animal ate his mouth and he somehow lost an eye but I still wanted to get a picture of our little snowman. Kade also loves the snowman song. In the picture is our friend Lux.

I love this picture of Kade! We have the perfect little hill on our street so I called up a friend and we attempted to go sledding.

34 weeks and sledding!

Its a little hard to sit on a disc with a kid on your lap while pregnant. Wasn't sure what to do with my legs. And yes I'm wearing my rainboots. They are easier to put on than my hiking boots. Sorry dear.

Watch out there is a bush! Last night when Jasmine took Kade down she ran over the exact same bush. Jasmine took Kade down last night and I was able to get video of it. I'll just have to add those later. I'm telling you Jasmine is awesome!

Lux wanted to go again but then she had an accident so we had to go back to the house to change clothes. Oh the joys of potty training.

It is so fun to play in the snow when its at your house. I don't think Kade would last very long if we went to the snow but this way we can go out and enjoy it a couple times a day. We are supposed to get 5-10 inches tonight. Lets see if we really get the snow.

SNOW!

Kade watching Thomas the Train. Its crazy how much this kid loves his trains, cars and airplanes. He loves the Thomas the train movies and points to every train on there. Glad the library has them because we can get different ones.

Today it rained, then the sun came out and it was so pretty, and then it got really dark and we got snow! I have to say I didn't really believe the news when they said we would get snow but we did. I love when the snow falls its so pretty and everything is so white and pretty.

After Kade woke up we put some snow clothes on walked to the neighbors to meet them (they just moved in) and gave them cookies. Then we took a little walk. Kade wasn't so sure he just kept looking around.

There were lots of kids playing in the street trying to have a snowball fight with the very little amount of snow we got. Kade just stood there and watched them.

We didn't get much but its supposed to snow the next we days so maybe we will have something fun to play in. If it snowed here that means there will be stuff in the mountains and we are going to go sledding. Yes I am going to go I just wont go over any bumps.

I had a photo shoot Saturday morning and needed to get things set before they came over. I don't normally do inside shoots but since the little one is only 3 months old it was better inside. I needed a model so who better than my own child. We was pretty good at sitting there for a bit. He wouldn't smile at me but hey I think I like him playing with his cars better. Wenatchee and Leavenworth

We headed off to Wenatchee to stay with my Aunt Sally for a few days. It was fun to spend time with family and relax. Our goal was to take Kade sledding for the first time and then have a date snowshoeing for our anniversary. Well on the way there, there was no snow to sled it was all old and then it was also raining. We did however got to go on our date and go snowshoeing and it was so much fun. Aunt Sally offered to watch Kade for us which was awesome so we took advantage of the opportunity to go play. We decided to go up to Leavenworth and had a great time.

Then went and got gelato just because we could!

Kade loved hanging out with Aunt Sally and her dogs. He found their brush and ran right over to the dogs and started brushing them. The dogs were so sweet and its lucky their hearing isn't good because I'm sure they would have ran when Kade yells. Thank you Sally for letting us have a date and watching Kade!
We were going to stop and find snow on our way home and there was more snow but Kade slept so we didn't stop. I guess we will have to try again.

Christmas Morning

Christmas this year was so nice. We enjoyed sleeping in and I think this may be the last one we will get to do that. We went and woke Kade up at 9! He was still so tired when we brought him downstairs he didn't even care about his presents

Grandma Kathy gave him this box and it unzips and makes a play mat for legos. Kade felt the need to sit in the box. This box came in super handy for our short road trip. We put toys inside then flipped the lid over and he could drive his cars on his lap. I didn't know this little box would be so great. Thank you all who spoiled our child he loves his toys.

Monday after Christmas we went to see the zoo lights with the Johnson's and then road the carousel. Kade wasn't so sure about it

A few weeks ago we had/got to go to a ball for Jesse's work. My friend Tiffany did my hair and then thye were so nice and watched Kade so we could go.

30 weeks and Christmas Eve

The Johnson's had a Christmas Eve Eve party and we wore ugly sweaters. This is Kade's sweet outfit. Found the sweater at goodwill and then these sweet pants were probably Jesse's.

This picture makes me laugh, look at those ribs sticking out! Oh and his pants up super high with the tightness around his ankles. Priceless......poor kid. I promise he eats, and eats a ton of everything!

Didn't realize how they are laying exactly the same until i posted this picture. I love watching them play cars its so cute.

Christmas Eve we had dinner at our house. Our neighbors Ken and Pam came over and so did the Johnson's and Jill's sister Dri. We had a great time with lots of good food.

Jill, Chloe and I made a nativity. Mike helped too. I think the stable stood for less than 5 minutes before it all crashed. Next time we will have to cook the ginerbread a little longer. Actually I think I'll do sugar cookies because I like eating sugar cookies more than I do gingerbread. Don't you love how its more the 80's themed nativity.

Train Ride Part 2

Santa was even on the train. This was Kade's third time to see Santa, I don't think he really cares he did however share one of his tickets with Santa. Santa gave him a snowman rubber duckie.

Train ride part 1

Last month I found out about a train that we could ride and during Christmastime Santa is on it. So I looked up the information and signed us up. Then we convinced the Johnson's to come with us too. It was such a fun morning. This is an old steam engine and does a scenic route of Mt Rainer.

Santa and Trucks

"Hey Kade smile"... and this is what I get! See his eye, yeah he ran into the wall and had a nice gash on his face.

We went to Jesse's work party and Kade got to see Santa again. Doesn't he look thrilled? At least he isn't screaming he just went right up to him and sat on his lap.

And after we took him out he then cried for 10 minutes because he didn't want to get out of the truck. Yikes!

I finished our stockings and now they are hung (with tape). I just sewed up scraps and well they are okay, they work for us...i guess I should think about stocking hangers of some sort for the coming years.

Projects

A few weeks ago I finished making the valances for our windows. I have 2 more to do but i need to go buy more foam. These were super super easy to make. I used this tutorail and wow it was great. It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted but I love these. It adds just the right amount of brightness to our really white walls.

I found the fabric when I was in Las Vegas visiting the Mel's. Its a discount fabric store and paid less than $5 a yard for this fabric and the stuff for Kade's room. I was so excited and I bought so much of it. I ended up putting the flower stuff all downstairs.

Here is a window in Kade's room. My goal is to get his room complete before the baby comes.

This week I found frames at Michael's for cheap so I bought a few and then framed some pictures I have had. I actually just used a couple calenders I have saved that we have gotten for Christmas from the Pearson's. I have 3 calenders that I saved and I'm so glad I did. I like that Kade has pictures of Christ in his room and I love that I could repurpose the calender. I couldn't throw the beautiful pictures away.

Here is there other wall. I really need to replace the black frames but I have not found any the right size yet. Kade now points out and can say the animals in the frames.

I made a tree skirt for our awesome tree. It was fun to go to Joanne's and get all the Christmas fabric. Have I mentioned thatI love pintrest because that is where I have found a lot of stuff, well at least saved it there so I can find it again. I used a few different tutorials and oh wait its still not done but I'm not worried about that until after Christmas since there are presents under the tree now.

Now out of all the projects I have done recently this is the one I'm most proud of. In August while in Solvang I bought this crossstich stocking and I am proud to say its done!! before chirstmas!! It took forever and I worked on it all the time. Now I'm not sure what to do with my time. It took forever but I'm so happy I did it. I think it looks so good and I hope Kade will love it.

One day I got together with some friends and we made these great pillows. Its fun to do it with friends and its a lot cheaper if you all split the fabric. We got the idea from Cluckclucksew I love her site.

I had extra fabric so I made this pillow i used this and this for inspiration. I really like how it turned out. I love making pillows because they are easy and then really easy to store the cover.

Now I just have to finish making a stocking for Jesse and me, paint the playroom, finish Kade's quilt, wrap presents, make a few, and hopefully have fun doing it all. Its totally possible now that Kade's stocking is done, I wont know what to do with myself.

A Sunday Evening and 26 weeks

I'm a little behind in getting this post up. I had 3 photo shoots the last week so i spent time editing those. Check out the photo blog because I love the christmas shoot I did with the kids. I'm learning its too cold to go out and take pictures around here especially with kids....yikes eveyone was freezing. Oh and I'll be 29 weeks on Tuesday and maybe we'll get a new picture up this week.

Figured I better get some pictures of me pregnant so I can compare them later. Fun to include Kade but he wasn't so into it.

I feel pretty good about our bucket list. I printed it off the internet and it was fun to see what we could do. I'm missing our fall weather because its been cold here.

My dad sent us this ridiculous hat it lights up, sings and the top moves back and forth. It used to have a bell on the top but that flew off one day. Kade loves to push the button so the hat turns on and then he runs away. These next few pictures are just a typical evening around here.

I love my boys! Kade loves his daddy and they crack each other up all the time.

So check out my kids outfit. Now let me explain... Melanie made this sweater around the time Kade was born and I told her I liked it well next thing i knew it was in the mail. I am so excited Kade can wear it and he keeps it on. I think its so cute and I love the fact that Melanie crocheted it. She is so talented. Kade's sweet sweatpants were hand downs from the Pearson's they were probably Jesse's at one time and for sure Megan's. It cracks me up that they don't stay down.

Tacoma Childrens Museum

After our photo shoot downtown Tacoma Saturday Tiffany and I took the kids to the childrens museum. We had never been and thanks to the public library system we could get passes for free! Its a super small museum but enough to do for the kids. I guess they are building a new one so I'm excited to check it out.

Yesterday Tiffany and I went to Ikea and then on the way home hit the super mall (which is huge). I needed to find a dress for the ball we get to go to next week. The start of a great Thanksgiving the boys stuffing their faces. They at first and then went down for naps which means we had a very enjoyable dinner.

My kid is so cute!!! So I saw this hat on pintrest and managed to figure out how to make it. When I was in Utah Melanie taught me how to crochet again and helped me with the hat. I'm proud to say i followed a pattern and did the drumsticks all by myself (well I guess there was a phone call to Melanie).

Kade has been using his forks and spoons and is getting so good at it. We are impressed.

I printed off this bucket list from pintrest and put it up in our house to see if we could accomplish the things on the list. I have to say we did pretty good. Good thing we went to Utah so we could play in the leaves because its a little too wet here and we have no leaves at our house. Emily has all kinds of hot chocolate so I got to mark that one off too. I've learned that we need to go on more dates. One date every 3 months is not super great so I'm going to try and be better. This is when I wish family lived closer.

I had to show my awesome finds today. I am so excited that I had to get these pictures up.

I got all of these blocks for $5. There 48 jenga pieces, 4 wedges, 3 arches, 2 small triangles, 4 half circles, 9 large dowles, 14 medium dowles, 10 small ones, 12 large triangles, 17 squares, 16 rectangles, 11 long rectangles, 19 medium long rectangles, 7 small rectangles, 1 fat rectangle and 1 car! And then a few colored random blocks

I am even more excited about this amazing train set I found. It comes with all the pieces above and then the train table which i can't get out of the car by myself. I'm lucky I got it into the car, Kade may have had to ride in the front seat home. I know bad mom but awesome find.

I'm adding what cames with the set so I can remember and so you can all be way impressed. 3 enginges, 2 engines that don't fit the tracks, 7 train cars, 2 people, 1 car, 3 trees, 3 signs, 2 lamp posts, I train house, 1 turn table, 4 bridges, 2 shops, 1 mountain, 1 crane, 8 train car inserts that the crane can lift up, 6 big curve tracks, 17 small curves, 2 large straight tracks, 8 regular straight tracks, 3 medium straight, 2 small straight, 2 large v tracks, 1 small v track, 2 bridge holders, and 2 ramps. Thats 88 pieces and a train table. Kade is going to love Christmas!! (by the way mom this is from you, i'm going to sell the other one). So I bought a different set on craigslist but this one is so much better I'm going to keep this one and resell the other one. Kade may be a little spoiled and have a lot of toys but I just can't pass up a good deal. Did I mention that the train set was $45 which is a super great deal if you have ever tried to find one.

Quick Trip to Utah

Kade and I took a quick trip to Utah for my old roommate Courtney's wedding. It was so fun to get together will all the Cherry Chubbs, it was also a great excuse to go back to Utah. We went out to lunch, had a great dinner and a fun reception. Congrats Courtney and Roger.

Zoo and cars

I know it has been awhile since I updated so here are a few pictures. We went to the zoo with the Johnson's a couple weeks back and the kids had so much fun. Kade loves to wonder around and its always fun with friends. Thanks Johnson's

I found a bag of 44 cars at the thrift store a few weeks back and Kade was in heaven. He was sitting in the box and Jesse dumped all his cars on top of him. So these are just a few pictures from my phone that I took to send to my brother. I decided to put some here just for a quick update. Kade loves his cars. He plays with them everyday and carries them all over the house. We always have some in the car and one always in my purse. He is actually pretty good at leaving them inside when we go out which is good so we don't loose them. Uncle Mark gave him some cars when we were in California last time and he has not let go since. Then Ken and Pam, our neighbors who live in front of us gave him a few more and he was so happy.

He was doing something super funny with his eyes. He felt he needed to blink them alot for the picture.

He did not like being interupted!

I love that he loves his cars because it keeps him out of trouble. He no longer gets into the bathroom cupboards because he takes his cars into the bathroom and plays with them. He also has gotten pretty creative with where he drives them and hides them. I'll try to get some better pictures because I don't want to forget how much he loves these cars.

Pumpkin Carving

Last Sunday we went to the Johnson's for dinner and we took our pumpkins with us since we hadn't carved them. Sadly my pumpkin was left because it was rotting on our porch. We were able to carve Jesse's and Kade's so that was fun.

So Kade may have been a little tired and didn't want to help or touch the pumpkins or innards and obviously didn't want his picture taken.

Then we sang 'If you're happy and you know it' and Kade sang along. He really likes the hooray part and puts his hands in the air. So at least he looks somewhat happy now.

Halloween 2011

Then Jill and I canned applesauce it was an all day ordeal but it was worth it.

My cute little puppy who wouldn't look at the camera. I found it at a garage sale for $1 and I couldn't pass it up. Made Halloween super easy this year.

We went to the trunk or treat at church and then came home and went to some of our neighbors. Kade got lots of candy which really means that mom and dad got lots of candy. Thanks Kade. He really got into getting candy he liked being able to choose and shove his hand into the candy bowl and put it in his bucket.

We went to another farm last week and got to go on a hayride. Kade was so excited about the tractor. The weather was horrible it poured most the day but we made it outside for a little bit.

We plan to get a few more plants for right side where it is just mulch. The Farm

I found this awesome farm not too far from home. Thanks to a lady in the ward telling me about it. I set up a play date and we went and enjoyed ourselves. Alaira and her daughter Alhanna were the only ones to join us but we had a lot of fun and Kade loved it. Its a lot like Avila Barn with the animals, and pumpkins. They even have a corn maze and a huge hill of saw chips with tons of toys for toddlers to play on. It was so kid oriented it was awesome.
A few days later we went back but with Jesse this time to pick out our pumpkins. Kade loves to be outside and this place is perfect. I'm pretty sure we are going to go again this week. Below are pictures from both outings.

Conference Weekend

Kade was in such a good mood on our flight home from California I just had to get some pictures while on the plane.

I'm pretty sure he talked to everyone around us and he loved the high school guy sitting infront of us. He talked to him using his growling voice it was super cute.

He thought he was so cool sitting on the armrest.

See that lady behind Kade? She was really nice and sat in the empty seat across the aisle so we could have both seats. The lady infront of us gave her the idea and I was very very grateful to have both seats. Thank you nice ladies on the airplane.

See how happy this child is. Oh and not to flight attendants its a really bad idea to park the drink cart right infront of a kid. Kade just kept reaching up trying to take stuff off.

This is how we spent the Saturday morning watching conference.

Last weekend was General Conference which is always so nice. For those of you not familiar with Conference it happens twice a year where we get to hear the Prophet and apostles speak. Its so great and uplifiting with wonderful messages. To find out more go to lds.org.

We hung out at home all weekend which was also really nice. Kade was really really cuddly on Saturday which is not normal but nice. I think he has been overwhelmed with all the traveling. When the the Mormon Tabernacle sang Kade felt that he needed to sing and lead them. Here are a couple cute videos and sorry if they are sideways I dont know how to flip the video.

We took a quick trip to San Luis for Grandma Helen's funeral. We took some time to play and enjoy the nice weather. The best part is Jesse was with us and we have not traveled with him since last Christmas and it was so nice to have him around.

The Puyallup Fair

Puyallup has a great fair which runs for about 3 weeks so we decided to go check it out. I'm so glad we did because we had so much fun. Kade loved all the animals and we enjoyed walking around checking things out. The best part is we got in for free. We were walking down to the fair and so was another guy. He offered us tickets and we were kind of worried at first but then he just gave them to us. He has worked at the fair for 20 years. Thank you guy walking down the sidewalk with us

Kade loves animals and stuck his finger in every cage.

Anything with a steering wheel is a big hit right now. He also loves tractors.

They had a place where kids could fish (for free) and Kade caught a fish.

I think he care more about splashing in the water than catching a fish but he was a good sport. I love the helpers face in this picture. Oh and Jesse was so excited to take him to catch his fish.

We walked into one of the buildings and they had these displays made out of food. I thought they looked so cool i had to take some pictures. I mean look at how much detail and its all done with food.

Camping, Canning, Las Vegas, Utah

Over Labor Day weekend we went camping at Dog Lake. Here is our campsite and you can kind of see the lake through the trees. Jesse is standing next to his new grill that I got him for his birthday.

Kade had been sick and come to find out was still sick, poor kid. It was also kind of cold. Kade loved it though he wandered around and we met everyone at the campground.

We went on a hike and found a river and I learned to shoot the hand gun.

On our way home from camping we found a fruit stand so we picked up 2 boxes of peaches. They were huge and so good. I canned 12 jars, and then made jam and froze a ton. I also made a super yummy peach pie. Sunday over labor day weekend we went on a walk and found an awesome area for blackberries. We picked a ton so I made blackberry jam. I am pretty proud of all my canning and I will be doing more since I bought another box of peaches yesterday. Yes I may be crazy.

Kade and I took a trip to Las Vegas to visit my old roommate Melissa and her family. We had such a great time. Here is Kade and Mitchell they are a few months apart and played so great together. Kade taught Mitchell how to scream really high pitched (sorry Mel) and Mitchell taught Kade how to pick his nose. I guess we are even.

Emily came down from Utah and then her and Melanie came over and swam with the boys. Kade loved all the attention he was getting.

Kade loved the hot tub because we turned it on and the water was warmer than the pool. The pool was so cold he would not go in, well I guess he fell in twice and didn't like it. The weather in Vegas was perfect. I may have to make it a tradition to go down this time of year every year.

We also went hiking in the mountains of Las Vegas. We tried to go to Mt Charleston but it was freezing okay like 50 but it was cold. So we found a different hike lower down where it wasn't so cold. The boys did awesome at walking.

Kade saw Mitchell drinking his milk in the bouncy seat and had to copy him. I thought he looked so funny. Its crazy how big he is getting.

The other reason we went to Vegas was to watch my old roommate Sarah participate in the half Ironman. I am not going to lie i thought it was a full one so I was a little surprised when I learned it was only half. She is still amazing and did awesome. She got 5th in her age group and 11th overall for the women. It was a lot of fun seeing Sarah and her family.

After Vegas Emily and I headed up to Orem. I'm pretty sure that was the longest drive from Vegas to Orem I have ever had. Emily's poor car had some issues and we never got above 50 going uphill and we were lucky to go 75 down hill. Kade did amazing and I owe most of that to Emily and her amazing sticker book. Have I mentioned that Emily is amazing because she is.

Kade LOVED Emily's garden and loved the orange tomatoes.

Emily has the biggest garden ever and Kade loved it. He loved eating all her raspberries. And was learning which ones to pick.

We had the most amazing time in Utah. We got to see lots of friends and eat lots of fresh produce. I wish we would have stayed longer but we couldn't. Now its time for everyone to come visit us. I don't think I'll be doing much traveling after the new year. I'm kind of sad that I didn't take more pictures I guess we were just having too much fun. We even saw Erin and didn't get a picture with her...what was I doing? Thank you Bunns, Melanie, Warner's, and Avery's for letting us stay with you. We had such a wonderful time and it was just what I needed. Now back to life here and time to get some projects done. Thank you Rebecca and Melissa for the motivation!

Blackberries

Today we took a great hike on post. Jesse wanted to to check out an area for deer hunting so off we went after Kade's nap. It was a beautiful day. While on our walk we found an apple tree, pear tree, and plum tree. There were actually a lot of fruit trees so we are thinking at one time it was a orchard. As we walked along the road we also found some berry bushes.

We found an awesome spot for berries. both sides of the road were covered and the berries were huge. Jesse even picked lots of berries which was awesome so now when he eats them he knows how much work it is to get them. Doesn't Kade look like he is having so much fun! He is too funny.

This kid loves berries he ate a ton of them as you can see by his face.

Look at his poor shirt! I hope it all comes out. By the way my dad picked out Kade's outfirt isn't it super cute. Kade was not too excited to get back into the car.

We probably picked half a bucket of berries. The bucket is 2 gallons. Now I get to make something yummy. The best part there are berries all over the place up here. Blackberries are not my favorite to pick you sure get scratched up a lot and thats not fun but oh it will be so worth it. Oh and I picked some early this morning down the street and we had them on our pancakes and they were super yummy.

I hung our pictures! Finally! Its nice to have some energy back and I hung these above our couch in the livingroom. I now jsut need to fill in the bottom middle once I find a frame or 2 frames can't decide. Things are coming together and hopefully it will be done soon. Or does it ever get done?

California part 1

We had a great time playing in California. The weather was beautiful and we had lots of fun playing with grandparents and aunts and uncle mark.

We went to Cuesta Park to play and let Kade play in the little creek. He loved it and he even got to take a little swim not by his choice.

August

August has been a very busy fun month. The weather has been beautiful and eventually I will post about our trip to California but that means I have to go up to the desktop and pull up all the pictures and well that just hasn't happened yet. Maybe tonight. We have had wonderful cherries for the last 2 months. They are so good and a great price and we buy them from a lady that has a stand on the side of the road. She gets the cherries from Yakima which is over the mountains and next week she will have peaches and more other good stuff!

The day we got back from California we went blueberry picking. There is a free blueberry park and you can just pick and eat as many as you want. Its so cool!

We went with some friends and it was so much fun.

This is Kade on our way back to the car. Not sure if he just wanted to pick the flowers or he sat down because he was mad that he couldn't just wonder off. Oh and check out his sweet nike's. They were Jesse's shoes when he was little!

Here are some of the berries we picked. I went again yesterday and got some more. This year wasn't super great according to my friend but we were happy with what we got.

When Jill comes over its time for random pictures off the ipod. Oh and most these pictures are off my ipod or Jesse's point and shoot.

I took the Kade to a little fair last Saturday to see some animals and just get out of the house. Jesse has been gone a lot so it was nice to get out and do something fun and different. Above Kade is chekcing out the pig and her piglets. There were a ton of piglets.

Then he got to pet a cow. He was a little shy but then I would be too that cow was big.

For dinner we got expensive $4 corndogs but they were hand dipped and were so good. We went and watched the horses while we had our dinner.

Kade truly is a boy he loves his cars and tractors and wheels.

They had all these different tractors set up and Kade was loving it.

I put him up on the tractor and he loved it. He thought he was so cool.

Look at hard he was concentrating. It looks like he knew just how to drive a tractor. He was not to happy when I took him down.

Then he got to go put on a fireman's uniform and hat and get up in a firetruck and take his picture. He loved it and did not want to get out. I'm pretty sure he threw a fit when we took him down. He could have sat up there all day.

Check out this sweet find I got at a garage sale today. It was a buck!!! yes $1! Well the lady wanted $2 and I asked if she would take $1 and she did. Merry Christmas Kade. I'm just going to hide it way for now. I was so excited about my find.

And her is my sewing closet which I love. Jesse and I put up the wire shelves and when I say we I mean Jesse I did help hold them. We then made the blue shelves to put my spools on. I love being able to see what I have. I have tons of brown and black. I also loved that we used an old map to back it. Then I hung my cutting mats and plastic cutting thingy. I love how it all came together and when I don't want to see it I just close the doors. Now to get motivation to sew and work on the rest of the house....or I'll just go enjoy the nice weather outside.

Flaming Gyser State Park

While the Pearson's were here we went up to visit Adrienne and Al who are their good friends. We had such a fun time visiting them and the kids loved their house. The best thing is we live relatively close and Al loves to fish and so does Jesse and he said we can come up anytime to go fishing and clamming.

The weather was so nice that we ate outside. Ken and Pam (the nieghbors who live in front of us) gave us this awesome picnic table that Ken made. It is awesome and we are so lucky to get it. Maybe it will make it to the backyard sometime but for now it is in the front yard and we like it there. Funny story about the table the other day i heard kids out front which is odd since we live on a flag lot with our house in the back. Anyways there were two little boys playing uno on the table...just a little strange but cute.

Here is the flame. Oh wait you can't even see it in the picture. Its coming out of the cement circle by Charlie's feet. So we thought we were going on some nice hike to this place...nope it was maye 500 ft off the road. At least their was a nice trail by it that we could go on. It was a fun hike but not much of a geyser. Oh yeah the geyser was created years ago when they were mining the area and hit this natural gas line and now there is a continous flame there, its not very big but still cool. Thanks Kathy for taking all the pictures its nice to finally be in some.

We went to a friends birthday party and they had 2 little kid pools and a ball that was a sprinkler. The weather was so nice and the kids loved playing in the water.

So Kade doesn't really like getting his face wet but he wouldn't move.

Kathy, Emily, and Brinly came to visit and we went to the Tacoma Glass Museum and it was awesome. This is a picture from the bridge its so cool.

After going into the museum Kathy was in the bookstore so I took these two over to the really cool pillars. The pillars have water inside and run down the outside. Before I realized what was going on both of them were soaking wet and loving it.

Kade and Brinly were having so much fun it was so fun to watch them that I couldn't stop them.

Grandpa and Aunt Megan drove up for a day and a half. Kade loved having his grandparents and aunts around to play with him.

Summer Fun

We have had some wonderfully warm weeks here. (as i write this its not so nice..grrrrr). I got to watch Rex and Chloe one day and it was so much fun. The kids played so well up in the playroom and then we walked down the street to our community park and the climbed and played with the basketballs. It was so nice outside that I bought Kade a little kid pool. We set it up in the backyard and he loved it. We used it for 3 days and then well the weather has cooled off again. Its supposed to be really warm this weekend so hopefully we can fill it up again.

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July this year. We were invited to a couple different parties but were only able to attend one and it was so much fun. We went to Jesse's work party. So Jesse works in a team and its pretty small so we had it with them. I think there were about 15 adults, 4 little kids and then a few 12 year olds. It was so fun to get to know the people Jesse works with and their wives. I am glad to have met them early so when the guys deploy I will know the wives and we can get together to do stuff. The afternoon was perfect, the food was good and we just relaxed and had a good time.

Getting a picture with 4 kids all within 2 months of each other is super hard. I was surprised they all sat still but not one picture of them all looking at the camera. The three other kids are children of Jesse's teammates. It will be fun to hang out with them more they all got a long great.

Kade is the youngest but man he is a big boy. Granted the twins were born early and only weighed 3lbs so they are still pretty small.

Kade was not super happy when the boys took his toy.

So they had this super cool lantern thing that you light and the hot air takes it up. Kind of like a hot air balloon. So when you light it and then let it go this is what happens....

It goes up up and away. Hmmm kind of bad to let something on fire go. Good thing its pretty damp and there was no report of a fire the next day. It was really cool to watch it go up.

This guy loves to be outside. He also loved to find the parachutes that came out of some of the fireworks. He would carry them around everywhere.

Oh and check out his man capris. They are size 18 months and they actually fit around the waist but where are my childs legs. He is just now starting to fit into 12 months and they still sag. Oh my poor child grow some legs.

Eating parts of fireworks are not so good. We had a great 4th of July and had the most perfect weather.

The other day Kade found my hat and put it on. I guess he likes to wear it backwards. He kept that hat on for awhile it was so funny. Then yesterday he found Jesse's hat. Maybe he is going to be a hat guy.

Shi Shi Beach

We met a couple at Cape Flattery that had just spent 3 nights at Shi Shi beach. That was pretty exciting because I had seen pictures of Shi Shi beach in a photography magazine and wanted to go and I knew it was close but wasn't sure where it was. I asked the couple and found out that it was about 15 minutes down the road so off we went. It was so cool. It was 5 mile hike round trip and we hiked through mud the entire time. We found out that you can go backpacking down there so we might try that sometime. This place is seriously awesome.

This is the root system/underside of a tree it was huge.

This was another fallen tree but then there was a tree growing out the top of this mound and it made the coolest little fort. It would have been a great shelter for camping.

Melanie I thought of you when we crossed this bridge so you get a picture of it.

And we had one tired boy at the end of our hike. I was actually surprised he fell asleep I guess it was all that fresh air and playing on the beach.

Cape Flattery, Washington

Each time I start a post I think I'll just put up a few pictures but then I can't choose which one to put up so then I just add a bunch. There are just too many pretty places to show. While we were camping we went out to Cape Flattery. Its the most northern tip of the peninsula and wow it was beautiful. It was a short hike down to the tip and wow it was awesome.

Towards the tip. I love how cool the rock formations are and all the trees growing on top.

The water was such a cool color and then you can see some kind of bird out on the limb of the tree.

Most of the path was a boardwalk which was fun. We learned later that its probably because the ground gets so muddy that they try to preserve the area a little bit by having people walk on platforms.

Isn't this beautiful! We want to take kayaks down there sometime.

There was an island out there but its a bird sactuary so people aren't allowed to go out there but there is a light house and another radio tower building that they blew up after they used it so hippies couldn't go live in it.

Bear Creek Campground

We were able to go camping one more time before Jesse has to go back to work. This time we headed out to the Olympic Peninsula. I found a free campground so off we went. It was so much fun the campsite was beautiful and right along a river. We were able to go hiking and go to the beach. It was a wonderful 2 day get away.

Kade loved walking around the campground and it was hard to keep him at our campsite. We took a lot of walks.

This child must touch all plants. He spent a great deal of time picking the little flowers off a bush in our site and trying to eat them. I was lucky enough to catch him from really chewing on the flowers. He loves being outside.

First off I have to say that I was going to put him in his pajamas soon and didn't bother to button his onsie. I did not realize he was going to go on another walk and play in the mud. It had rained the day before we got there so there were lots of puddles in the road. There were only so many times I could keep him out of the mud and water until I just gave up. I mean we were camping and we were supposed to get dirty right?

He had so much fun splashing in the pudding and getting really muddy.

My sweet boy. Before we left Kade somehow scratched his face above his lip and then the first day out while he was walking with Jesse he fell and hit a stick with his face and just missed hitting his eye. He looks a little beat up.

Telling me a story while we took a walk. I just held my camera at my waist and took a bunch of pictures of our walk. It was a lot of fun and he had no idea I was taking pictures. More pictures from our trip to come in another post.
